Buy Used Mopeds-Checklist
It's a good idea to look over mopeds that you might buy in the daylight.
1. Motor: make sure it turns over.
2. Gas tank: use a flashlight to check the inside for rust.
3. Tires: make sure they hold air and look for cracks/dry-rot.
4. Exhaust: look for rust and/or holes.
5. Brakes: make sure that both front and rear brakes engage.
6. Seat: check for cracks and/or tears.
7. Cables: old cables will need to be replaced.
8. Carburetor: upon starting, check for leaks.
9. Chain: look for rust and wear.
10. Frame: check the quality of the paint and look for rust.
11. Fluid: find out when it was last changed.
12: Lights: make sure they work.
13. Switches: test them to make sure they work.
